King of Carrot Flowers (Pt. 1) - Neutral Milk Hotel

In The Aeroplane Over the Sea is supposed to be one of the great unsung and undiscovered records of the 90’s.  (Pitchfork gave it a perfect 10.  Click on link to listen to the entire record.)  It was recorded after the primary songwriter experienced profound sadness after reading Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl.

I’m not sure I hear the greatness over all the tracks, but this song is exhilarating and depressing.  It would make the perfect soundtrack for a Wes Anderson movie moment.
